Earworms

For those of you who don’t know what an earworm is: that’s a song that your head keeps repeating to you over and over and over again. Lately I had several of those songs tossing and turning over each other. I like to share these with you 🙂

The first is a song that I heard on a tv-show and was performed by Triggerfinger. They are a Belgium band and make music like Queens of the Stone Age and Led Zeppelin. Here is a video with their impression of my earworm I Follow Rivers. Once you’ve heard it, you’ll know why 😉

The second earworm is by the boyband One Direction and is called One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks). It has been a hit and has raised lots of money for the Comic Relief of 2013.
The next (and last) earworm was put to my intention by my dear crochet bfbf (best facebook buddy forever) Kim from Woolly Toons. It was a hit in Australia weeks before I heard it on the radio in Holland! It’s a bit of a strange movie, but the song is intruiging. I like this one best, it’s the Wankelmut Remix of the song One Day / Reckoning Song by Asaf Avidan.
On the crochet front I’m making a skull shawl. It’s a Swedish pattern, but thanks to Google translate and my own head, I’ve managed to make a start with it and it seems alright! Here is the original:

I’m making it with a black wool blend, with coloured bits in it. It’s 74% acrylic, 20% wool and 6% viscose. Nice and soft and warm! When it’s finished, you’ll be the first to know!

  4. I think you told me about One Day/Reckoning Song but I’m not sure. I do know that I repeated it five times after I first heard it 🙂 At the moment I can’t get this one out of my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJNR2EpS0jw. Rose Tint My World has started to edge in though. I love earworms. I especially love it when I wake up with a song in my head 🙂

  5. Ho Hey, of course – that one was in my head for months! Dumb Ways is very catchy. I find myself singing it when I’m climbing up ladders or standing on chairs hehe Some of the toons would make awesome amigurumi 🙂
