Fairy Garden Finished!

At last I’ve found time to post the final pictures of the Fairy Garden of the Crochet-A-Long by Mad Crochet Lab. The photos are made with a camera lend to me by my boyfriend. They’re supposed to be of a better quality than the ones I made with my phone, but not all are… They give you an idea though…

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did by making the garden. It’s still standing on the table, so I can look at it (often).

But…. I can hardly wait for the next CAL! 😉

FG - open door  Perhaps it looks like she’s hanged herself LOL, but she’s sitting on a swing!

FG-tooth fairy  The tooth-fairy!

FG-troll The troll which lives under the bridge.

Have a nice day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

To celebrate Valentine’s Day I made myself a couple of romantic wristwarmers. They were also a bit of comfort crocheting, ’cause I had a bit of an accident with my bicycle last Tuesday 😦 It wasn’t slippery at all! But my folding bike decided to drop the saddle, which immediately blocked everything and I went head over heels over the steer! A very friendly busdriver (of an empty tourist bus) insisted on bringing me home, with bus and all!!! I was a merely 100 meters away from my home, but due to the narrow streets, we took the scenic route hehehe.

My left knee is a bit swollen and still hurts, my right knee is a bit less painfull as is my right shin. I was shaken all over and decided to make something lovely to easy it. That became the Queen of Hearts wristwarmers. They can be found on Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/queen-of-hearts-wrist-warmers or directly on Nikki Edwards’ blog: http://luna-sea.tumblr.com/post/10270503171/queen-of-hearts-wrist-warmers.

The ones I made are 10 hearts wide instead of 6. The yarn I used is 100% cotton by the Dutch company Lammy, called Rio, colour 607. I used the 2.5 mm hook (my favourite!).

Have a nice Valentine’s Day!

Fairy

She is ready to go into the CAL fairy garden, my fairy.

Some say she’s a bit witchy. But even fairies need witches, don’t they? Her hat is a flower turned upside down. She has stockings made of purple heather. Her wings are gauze and inspired by a picture Elzeblaadje took of a butterfly which looks like a fairy.

Hope you’ll like her as much as I do 🙂 It was fun to make her from the basic humanoid pattern of the Mad Crochet Lab: http://madcrochetlab.com/yarndango-project-25-basic-tiny-humanoid-form/, although mine is without boobs… I meant her to be a fairy in another sense of the word 😉 That’s why she/he has a bra with tassels…. She/he is what you make of her/him.

Tadaaa!
